Standing with Pope Benedict XVI

…and standing up for him.

In this time of attack on the Holy Father, it’s imperative that Catholics know the facts. We’ve posted some here and here. Fr. Z is beginning a series on his blog to provide “fair and balanced reporting on clerical sexual abuse.” (He’s also encouraging readers to respond in support of the Pope at two polls that ask whether Pope Benedict should face legal action because of the child-abuse scandal.)

The Knights of Columbus have begun a novena for Pope Benedict. It began on Divine Mercy Sunday and will conclude on Monday, April 19, the fifth anniversary of Pope Benedict’s election. It’s not to late to get on board. Here’s a link to a PDF of the prayer card. Please pray for our Holy Father! (And with him–his prayer intentions for the month are here.)

And, if you want to show your support of Pope Benedict in a rather American way, you can buy “Pray for the Pope” merchandise–mugs, buttons, t-shirts, etc.–here, also courtesy of Fr. Z.
