Today is the feast day of St Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother, a member of the Passionist order who died just two days before turning 24. Msgr. Charles Mangan has a beautiful article on this holy example of fidelity to Christ found here. In it he writes: “St. Gabriel’s love for Jesus and Mary as well as his continual surrender to the Divine Will is a challenge to all of us who are spending these forty days of Lent in prayer, fasting and almsgiving.” Let us find encouragement in this Saint and all of God’s holy ones on our Lenten journey!
