STEUBENVILLE, OHIO—Emmaus Road Publishing, the publishing arm of Catholics United for the Faith, announced today that it is the exclusive publisher of The Catechetical Institute at Franciscan University of Steubenville.
Ron Bolster, director of the Office of Catechetics at Franciscan University, said the opportunity to collaborate with Emmaus Road Publishing will “significantly expand” the outreach of Franciscan University, “making it possible to serve the Church in new ways. This will bring the catechetical expertise of the University and its faculty to bear on a broader audience and help more people receive the good news of Jesus Christ.”
Publisher Mike Sullivan added, “Catholics United for the Faith and Emmaus Road Publishing are delighted in this new endeavor with Franciscan University of Steubenville. It’s an opportunity for both of us to build on our catechetical strengths and to work together to have a high impact in bringing sound catechesis to the Church. Franciscan’s dynamic orthodoxy, combined with CUF’s and Emmaus Road’s track record of fidelity and catechetical experience, will be a great service to the People of God.”
The first book under The Catechetical Institute imprint will examine the heritage of Blessed John Paul II, concentrating on the 14 encyclicals he wrote during his pontificate. Its author is Franciscan University theology professor Dr. Alan Schreck, an expert on the Second Vatican Council and the author of numerous books, including his best-seller on Catholic apologetics, Catholic and Christian: An Explanation of Commonly Misunderstood Catholic Beliefs.
Upcoming Institute books also include one on the North American catechetical saints by Franciscan University catechetics professor Sister M. Johanna Paruch, FSGM. Catechetics professor Bob Rice and other Franciscan faculty and colleagues associated with The Catechetical Institute also have books in the works.
Publications will be available at emmausroad.org, Amazon, or your local Catholic bookstores.
