82 Valentine’s Days Ago…

Today is a very special day for Marshall and Winnie Kuykendall of Lordsburg, New Mexico.
This day marks their 82nd anniversary and makes them the longest-married couple in the United States. The Kuykendalls, who were married on February 14, 1929, are the winners of a search sponsored by Worldwide Marriage Encounter.
The project was undertaken in an effort to to promote long-lasting marriages. Worldwide Marriage Encounter also recognized the longest-married couple in each state. The results can be read here. Worldwide Marriage Encounter is a ministry that offers retreats and other opportunities for couples to strengthen Christian marriages.
