Excellent points on sloth and too much "busy-ness".
I tend to wax and wane...frenetic activity and then inertia. Guess I need to work on something in between...moderation and consistency :)

Thanks for this reference!
It is a grand read.
I think modern man is capable of the liturgical act. But only with God's grace. Same, then, as it ever was.
What it calls to mind for me are some other familiar words : "Lord I am not worthy to receive you, but only say the word and I shall be healed." I think the Son of Man can save modern man. Modern man just has to want to be saved.

The second printing of the Catholic Bible Concordance is at the printer. Yes, the pages that were left out (and later inserted) in the first printing are included in the second printing. We do not yet have a delivery date from the printer, but we will post here when the second printing arrives at the Emmaus Road warehouse.

I've read the reviews at Amazon.com that the pages initially left out was glued back to the book as a way of rectifying the problem. I would like to know whether the new batch of the book has been published with the problem solved or not because I intend to purchase the same. If the answer is in the negative, please let me know when the rectified book will be published. Thanks.

Comment on Are Children’s Masses Appropriate? by Ben Yanke

I think people should entirely eliminate the whole idea of a "children's mass" from their minds, as well as the idea of a "youth mass".

How about this shocking idea:

Get a reverent & traditional bishop/priest to celebrate the mass with traditional hymns, chant, incense, bells, 6 candlebearers, "the benedictine arrangement". Then call it a children's mass. That's what we have every sunday, with the addition of roman vestments (ie, fiddlebacks) much of the time by our good bishop!

You have that kind of mass, and you will have families, young and old flocking to that mass (that's first hand knowledge). And guess what? You just hit 2 birds with one stone! You just knocked off the "Children's Mass" and the "Youth Mass" off the parish schedule! Now that's something to be proud of!
